State Licenses/Taxes
The current Texas Sales Tax is 6.25% and the city of Fort Worth tax is .082500. The city tax is collected with the state sales or use tax. Trade show exhibitors need a Texas sales tax permit if they sell taxable products at the show, take orders that are later accepted out of state, or use the show to promote sales. Exhibitors will also need to collect and remit the tax on sales either made at or after the show. An exhibitor without a Texas location needs a Texas Sales and Use Tax Form. There is no fee for either permit. The application is online at http://www.cpa.state.tx.us/taxinfo/taxforms/01-forms.html, or call 1-800-252-5555 and request the AP-201 and 01-117 forms. For more information on Trade Shows and the Texas Sales and Use Tax please go to their website at: http://www.cpa.state.tx.us/taxinfo/taxpubs/tx96_276.html.
