The Elk Foundation's Olaus J. Murie Award recognizes professionals whose work provides, or has provided, significant contributions to our knowledge and conservation of wild, free-ranging elk in North America. The award honors Olaus Murie’s tremendous accomplishments in wildlife research and conservation, while recognizing those who have taken up his path and become conservation leaders in their own right.

Help us honor an individual who has demonstrated significant contributions for the betterment of wild, free-ranging elk through research, management or by conserving or enhancing habitat. Candidates may include wildlife biologists, researchers or habitat managers for state, federal, tribal or private agencies and organizations.
