AWARD SURPRISE — Saturday's Grand Banquet sprung several surprises on the outgoing Elk Foundation president, Bob Munson. Munson, who has now taken on the role of president emeritus, received the 1997 Wallace Fennell Pate Wildlife Conservation Award for his 14 years of dedication to habitat conservation. Later that evening, a lighthearted video looked back on how Munson helped found, shape and develop the Elk Foundation. Here, Munson (center) accepts the Pate Award from Elk Foundation Board Chairman Bob Koons (right) and Wallace Pate's son, Jack.
