Elk Trunks

Elk Trunks contain lesson plans, activities, books, antlers, furs, skulls and other materials to help educators teach youth about elk, other wildlife, habitat conservation and hunting.   

Wild About Elk Teacher Workshops

Fun and interactive, WIld About Elk Teacher Workshops train educators in elk natural history and wildlife and land management issues, and provide curriculum and lesson plans for use in their classrooms.   

Wonders of Wildlife (WOW)

When completed, WOW's website and distance learning program will offer a one-stop-shop for wildlife, outdoor heritage and conservation education information, providing visitors with diverse and engaging strategies for teaching and connecting people to elk country and beyond.   

Wildlife Leadership Awards (WLA)

Established to recognize, encourage and promote leadership among future wildlife management professionals, the WLA grants scholarships to college juniors and seniors chosen for their dedication to wildlife conservation, among other things. 

Elk Country Visitor Center

Using interactive exhibits and education programs, the Visitor Center in Missoula, Montana, provides a vehicle for educating the general public and students K-12 about wildlife, habitat management and conservation issues.  

Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW)

BOW teaches women hunting, fishing and other outdoor skills, and develops a deeper understanding of wildlife and hunting that participants use to foster a commitment to conservation within the family.  

Media Outreach

Media outreach through the Elk Foundation's publications, television show, website and news releases is key to inspiring and maintaining an interest in elk country, conservation and hunting.   

Torstenson Wildlife Center (TWC)

Conservation and hunting heritage programs at the TWC cultivate future conservationists through field experiences such as the Boy Scout High Adventure Base Camp, fly fishing clinics and hunter education classes.  

Education at Chapter Level

Elk Foundation volunteers offer one-on-one mentoring, in-depth knowledge and real-life experiences through a number of conservation education and hunting heritage activities through their local chapters.
