RMEF Members Go Behind the Scenes at PBR World Finals, Thanks to Packages Won at Banquets
By Kirk Murphy, RMEF Vice President of Western Operations
Held in Las Vegas, the Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough World Finals offers five days of competition featuring the best bulls and bull riders in the world, and 400 RMEF members and supporters were in attendance to enjoy the 2016 festivities this past November, thanks in part to packages sold at RMEF banquets. Through the Cowboys for Conservation program, PBR provides World Finals packages for RMEF fundraising banquets across the country. Winning bidders receive a hotel stay, tickets to all five rounds of bull riding,
shuttles to and from the event, pre-parties, special VIP passes and more.
RMEF package buyers were hosted at the South Point Hotel, Casino
and Spa, where RMEF pre-parties were held each day. These included Calcutta auctions, raffles, good food and a whole lot of fun and comradery. Each day, RMEF guests had the opportunity to walk through the PBR Fan Zone and check out all the vendors, as well as attend PBR rider meet-and-greets each morning. In the evening, RMEF package buyers were shuttled to the new T-Mobile Arena where they could attend free outdoor concerts and enjoy some of the best bull riding in the world.
Friday morning was a highlight for many RMEF attendees—a breakfast with a small auction and some very special guests. Eventual PBR World Champion Cooper Davis spent the morning meeting RMEF fans, as did PBR Rookie of the Year Jess Lockwood. Flint Rasmussen, the well-known PBR entertainer, also spent time with the RMEF family over the course of the finals, and recording artist Daryle Singletary
treated the group to a private concert.
So if you want to attend the 2017 PBR World Finals, check out your local banquets for a chance to purchase one of these fantastic packages, available beginning in January 2017.
