Two Gun Raffles
More than 100 sets of two gun raffle packages and an additional free gun to every chapter where two gun raffle results net more than $3,000 are on the line in 2016. Why? Because the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation has a goal of generating $150,000 net in two gun raffle sales this year.
The old saying “You’ve got to spend money to make money” isn’t necessarily true for RMEF chapters looking to raise funds. In fact, the two gun raffle packages that are available to chapters for free let you literally create something, for nothing.
The program is a very successful one for the RMEF when used to generate second-event income. And it’s available to any chapter willing to use it outside of their normal big game banquet fundraising event.
Raffle packages will be available no later than June 1 and come on a first come first serve basis to our more than 500 chapters. RMEF cost on the firearms is typically about $1,000. In order to hit our goal of $150K, chapters will have to generate at least $2,500 in gross income at a minimum. As long as that income is turned in before mid-December, the packages are free to the chapters and, as an added incentive this year, every chapter that nets $3,000 or more per two gun raffle package will receive a free firearm to be used at its 2017 banquet.
Remember, if we can work together to increase the net income on these packages or the volume of packages used, we can ultimately increase the amount of dollars RMEF puts on the ground for our mission. Then your state’s mission allocation increases and you get to help decide how that money is spent so that collectively we continue to ensure the future of elk, other wildlife and our hunting heritage.
