Working Together as One
Two dozen RMEF volunteers representing seven different chapters spread over four states came together at two different Las Vegas venues during the National Finals Rodeo (NFR). Together, they worked as one.
When all was said and done, their combined efforts over 12 days working at RMEF booths at the inaugural Hunter Christmas Exposition (presented by Cabela’s) could be summed up in two words: “teamwork” and “success!”
Arizona was well-represented with a dozen volunteers from Tucson and four more from Mesa. There were four volunteers from Salt Lake City and two from Colorado representing Durango and Montrose.
“Without these volunteers from different areas in the country cooperating as a team, this would not have been as successful as it was,” said Ron Pittman, RMEF regional director in Arizona.
Volunteers worked more than 1,100 hours in 12 days across both booths. In the FanFest booth alone at Cowboy Christmas, there were 12 to 16 volunteers a day, and at times we could have used more.
The volunteers really drive the success of the booth. They set membership total goals for themselves each day and for the show overall. If they get close to reaching the goals, they reevaluate and move the goal, always trying to do as much as they can for the RMEF.
It is a great team of volunteers, and they work great together putting the RMEF above each of their individual chapters. The core group of volunteers has been together now for eight years, and each and every year we add new members to the team.
The RMEF booths during the NFR are a great team effort, and the size of the team keeps growing. We have great staff working with great volunteers, and the results keep getting better every year!
