After hiking around looking for elk antlers for over three hours, and only finding a few singles, my Dad (Ray David) yells “Come Quick”. I could tell that he had found something pretty impressive. When I came around the clump of brush that was between him and me, I almost fell over when he was holding the right side of the biggest elk antler I had ever seen. This started the adrenaline flowing in both of us, as we started making circles and getting farther and farther away from where we found the right side. With all of the luck in the world working with us that day, I found the other matching side leaned up against a little group of willows. I let out the same war hoop that my Dad had about two hours earlier. We had found a matching set of antlers that would be close to the 400” mark.  We found the left side only about 180 yards away from where we found the right side. This was the most productive and memorable day of shed hunting that I have ever taken part in.
