This bull was taken in the North Dakota Badlands, just north of Teddy Roosevelt National Park on the first evening of an early elk season. It was in full velvet and weighed in excess of 1000 lbs. This elk had been spotted earlier in the week with a giant bull that ended up being the non-typical state record.
