Official Taxidermist of the Great Elk Tour
As a native Montanan, Steve Brett developed a passion for hunting and fishing at an early age. Steve graduated from the University of Montana in 1990 with a BA in wildlife biology and now lends his knowledge and skill by serving as the official taxidermist of the Elk Foundation’s Great Elk Tour. Steve owns Game Trails Taxidermy in Florence, MT and is well known for his skills in North American, African, and Exotic species.
Bringing the Elk Tour to life
New to the Great Elk Tour in 2011, Steve Brett and Game Trails Taxidermy bring 21 years of taxidermy experience with them. High quality pieces and attention to detail is something the Great Elk Tour demanded of a new taxidermist, and Game Trails Taxidermy was there to answer the call. We are extremely proud to have a taxidermist of this quality and caliber associated with the Great Elk Tour.
For the Great Elk Tour, Steve uses only premium McKenzie Taxidermy Supply forms, eyes and ears for each mount. McKenzie generously donates all competition-quality materials. In addition, Glacier Fur Dressing of Kalispell, Montana, donates its top-notch tanning services, ensuring the mounts will look as good 15 years from now as they do today.
