RMEF Soars to Sixth Consecutive Year of Record Membership

MISSOULA, Mont.—For the sixth year in a row, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation surpassed its record membership level from the previous year, now totaling 205,249 members.

“This growth indicates that more and more conservation-minded people recognize the good work that RMEF is carrying out and want to be a part of it,” said David Allen, RMEF president and CEO. “We are grateful to each of them for their support and especially to our diligent volunteers who work tirelessly conducting membership drives, banquet activities and other fundraising events.”

Capping its 30th year as a conservation organization, RMEF’s membership is up 37 percent since its 20th anniversary in 2004 and 132 percent since its 10th anniversary in 1994.

“Our goal has never been to be the largest conservation organization but it is of paramount importance that we remain accountable to our membership for our actions and on-the-ground efforts,” added Allen. “Looking at the bigger picture, we appreciate hunters and recognize the role they play in providing the lion’s share of funding for North America’s wildlife conservation efforts. In a nut shell, Hunting Is Conservation and RMEF will surge forward to the best of our ability in carrying out our mission to ensure the future of elk, elk country and our hunting heritage.”
