All photographers making submissions to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and its publication, BUGLE, must comply with the terms listed in the following guidelines. These terms supersede any terms submitted or offered by the contributor at the time of submission.

Terms
• All submissions, unless approved otherwise, are sent at the expense of the contributor.
• The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation will, in its sole discretion, determine whether to compensate for the replacement cost of damaged or lost slides,  and does not agree to any contracts, delivery notices or statements of value included in a submission.
• The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation does not return digital submissions (unless requested), nor does it hold any liability to replace discarded or lost CDs, digital files or any prints from these digital files that may accompany a submission.

Slides
• For color photo submissions, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation accepts only original (not duplicated) 35 mm or larger transparencies.
• Each slide must have the contributor’s name, and a code number for identification.
• Please submit 20 or less images per submission.
• The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation is not responsible for submissions not received or submissions damaged while in transit to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.

Digital Images
• When submitting digital images, please send as low resolution JPGs for initial viewing. If you image(s) is/are chosen we will then request the high resolution version. Email, CD, digital lightboxes or via our FTP site are all acceptable ways to submit. If sending a CD, a contact sheet of thumbnail prints is much appreciated.
• If interested in submitting photos via the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation’s FTP site, please follow the instructions below. Please inform photo coordinator before uploading so a folder can be created for you.

Window Users 
     Open an Internet browser window (Internet Explorer is recommended) and type in ftp://ftp.rmef.org
     Go to File > Login As and enter: 
        Username: photos 
        Password: photosftp

Macintosh Users (you may need to use an FTP utility if the instructions below do not work)
     Open an Internet browser window and type in: ftp://ftp.rmef.org
     A login window should come up. Enter the following:
        Username: photos
        Password: photosftp

Payment information and Publishing Rights
Photo payment is as follows:
Cover: $400
Full page spread: $150
Full page: $100
Half page: $75
Third page or smaller: $50

• The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation agrees to one-time North American rights for each image selected for publication. 
    o Exceptions include: limited web use, as seen below, and reproduction of BUGLE covers to use in promotional materials.
