Albuquerque Chapter Join | Renew
of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation

The Albuquerque chapter of the RMEF had an outstanding banquet this year at Sandia Resort and Casino. Attendance was up about 54 attendees from last  year with an increase in the over all budget by about 4%. Every dollar earned means more dollars in support of New Mexico Elk Habitat. A good time was had by all with some new games and raffles. Please mark your calender for the March 24th 2012 Big Game Banquet being held again at Sandia Casino. We would love to top the attendance from this past year and add a few more percentage points to the overall total budget. With some help from the NM members I'm sure it's a goal we can meet.

Ongoing raffles for this season are: 2 gun raffle consisting of winners choice of a Browning .270 with brass inlay and engraved with RMEF or a Howa .243. Tickets are $1.00 a piece or 6 for $5.00. The winner of this raffle will be drawn on December 14th, 2011
Also, we are raffling a DPMS Panther Arms AR15 semi automatic .223 graciously donated by Thomas See, General Manager of Albuquerque's SPORTSMAN'S WAREHOUSE.  These tickets are also $1.00 a piece or 6 for $5.00 with the drawing taking place at the 2012 Big Game Banquet.
We are selling at various venues around the area to include NM Expo at Albuquerque's shooting range on August 20th, Bob Gerding show, NM Gun Collectors show, and some weekends at Sportsman's.
Please contact Tim @ 505-350-8330 if you are interested in purchasing tickets.

Starting at the NM Expo on August 20th and 21st RMEF is launching a new program sponsored by Larry and Brenda Potterfield from MIDWAY USA called S.A.F.E. Shooting Access For Everyone. This program is tailored with kids in mind to promote hunter safety and give them the knowledge to start shooting which in turn may be their first spark towards hunting. This is a free event for kids 10to 18 with a short classroom discussion then to the range for some air rifle practice and training.
The Albuquerque Chapter of RMEF would like to thank the Potterfields for their great support in creating and sponsoring the SAFE program.  Please keep them in mind when looking for all your hunting needs.

The mission of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation is to ensure the future of elk, other wildlife and their habitat. Since 1984, we have protected and enhanced over 5 million acres of wildlife habitat. We also support conservation education programs and help restore wild elk herds. Along the way, we have helped open access to nearly half a million acres for public hunting and other recreation.
If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering some time to the Albuquerque Chapter of RMEF please come join our committee. All help in the planning, organizing and executing of of the upcoming banquet is greatly appreciated.
