Wyoming may have the smallest population in the U.S., but the state’s corps of RMEF volunteers is a giant in terms of teamwork, verve and accomplishment. The group celebrated with gusto at Volunteer Fun Night during RMEF’s 25th Anniversary Elk Camp in Ft. Worth, Texas, after receiving Outstanding Chapter Awards for 1st place in Life Membership Sales, 2nd place in Banquet Net: Total Ratio, Recognition Net Over $100,000, Cumulative Net Over $1 Million, $1 Million Net State and Net Per Resident. More than 500 RMEF chapters across the country drove home their commitment to conserving elk country in 2008 with a record-breaking fundraising year. Chapters held 734 events and raised a net revenue of $17.3 million—setting a new record for chapter fundraising! This included $12.9 million in event net (auctions, raffles, drawings, meals, etc), $2.6 million in membership net and $1.8 million in donations.
Congratulations to all RMEF chapters on a record-book 2008, and a special thank you to all Outstanding Chapter Award winners!

Going the Extra Mile
This special award was presented by RMEF regional director Tom Jones to recognize the Mid-Missouri Chapter, Columbia, Missouri, for their participation and top sales in two extra fundraising events for 2008: the 2-Gun Raffle Sale and Bass Pro Shops Conservation Month.
