We are very fortunate to have many small chapters that drive RMEF’s fundraising. Each individual chapter is essential to bringing in new members, revenue and Habitat Partners every year—the fuel that drives our mission. They are also essential to the heart and soul of the organization. 

Smaller chapters may sometimes lack in resources and manpower, but they make up for it in enthusiasm. At times, the core committee is comprised of only two or three dedicated people, with a dozen or more family and friends to help run the banquet. Sometimes a chapter chair must fill in as the ticket chair or merchandise chair—or both.  There are some committees that even have to recruit key positions from another chapter or ask a state volunteer to fill in. In short, they do whatever it takes to get the job done.

Just as a committee is a rainbow of personalities, skills and vocations working together to produce a successful banquet, so too are the nearly 500 chapters scattered across the country. If we lose just one, regardless of size, we suffer the loss to the mission, as well as to the spirit, passion and commitment of the individuals who make up that committee.

All RMEF chapters form the fundraising backbone of the organization and provide critical support. Without this grassroots network to support our mission, 5.7 million acres of elk country to date would not have been protected or enhanced.
