January 2022, Accokeek, MD – Benelli USA set a new standard in bolt-action hunting rifles with the introduction of the all-new Lupo in 2020. This year, the company expands the award-winning Lupo line with six new colored BE.S.T. surface-treated models that bridge Lupo’s precision performance and technological innovation with contemporary styling.
In addition to its current models, Benelli will now offer its Colored BE.S.T. Lupo 6.5 Creedmoor, .308 Win, and .300 Win-Mag bolt-action rifles in two new camo patterns: GORE® OPTIFADE™ Open Country and GORE® OPTIFADE™ Elevated II.
All six models will sport BE.S.T. surface treatment barreled receivers in color-matching hues. GORE® OPTIFADE™ Open Country pairs with black matte BE.S.T. while Labrador Gray BE.S.T. complements the GORE® OPTIFADE™ Elevated II pattern.
BE.S.T. (Benelli Surface Treatment) is a new proprietary finishing technology developed by engineers and scientists at Benelli’s manufacturing headquarters in Urbino, Italy. It is a hybrid Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) and Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition (PECVD) technology that applies a protective coating to parts. This coating provides corrosion and abrasion resistance superior to any other firearm finish on the market.
Benelli Lupo bolt-action rifles have been praised by experienced hunters and the shooting media for their rich features, high-quality manufacturing, durability, sub-MOA accuracy, and most importantly, reliability. The Crio-treated free-float barrel combines with a hardened steel barrel extension bedded to a steel block within an alloy receiver to deliver precise and repeatable point-of-impact. Other features include a detachable box magazine that blends smoothly with the chassis, top-mounted ambidextrous safety, a two-piece Picatinny rail system for optic mounting, as well as user-adjustable stock spacers to customize length-of-pull. The Lupo comes with shims to adjust drop, cast, and trigger reach for an even more custom fit. This innovative platform is driving new performance levels in the bolt-action rifle category.
