The illegal activity just continues to grow. Authorities in the small Vancouver Island community of Lake Cowichan recently found three more poached elk driving the total up to 10 animals over the last several months.
“It’s a travesty and a horrible waste of these animals,” Scott Norris of the British Columbia Conservation Office Service told the Victoria News. “We’re really talking about the loss of potentially six elk because all three were cows and there’s a good chance they would have soon become pregnant.”

For 2020, Remington partnered with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation to increase the visibility of poaching incidents in an effort to reduce poaching.
