Elk NetworkGear 101 – Buck Knives Pursuit Pro Series

Gear 101 | August 25, 2020

Last year, Buck knives introduced their Pursuit line—solid, no nonsense knives at an affordable price. For 2020, Buck gave that line some serious upgrades, upgrades any hunter can appreciate. They’re calling it the Pro Pursuit Series. At first glance, you’ll notice the highly visible ergonomic, rubberized handle.

If you’ve ever set your knife on the ground while cleaning an elk, you can appreciate this feature. On the three models of fixed blades, a full-tang construction means the steel runs the length of the knife and can take plenty of abuse. All three folders feature easy, one-hand opening and a lockback design.

All the knives in the Pro Pursuit Series feature S35VN steel. Whereas S30V steel offers incredible edge retention, S35VN keeps those same edge-retention qualities and allows the edge to sharpen easier in the field—meaning you’ll should only need one knife for your elk, from beginning to end. In addition, each blade is cryogenically treated, which means the steel is frozen to hundreds of degrees below zero. The process helps the knife keep its edge. Except gut hook versions, Pro Pursuit knives feature a drop point blade, which is a strong, thick point for heavier tasks. The top of the blade drops down toward the tip, which minimizes accidental puncturing while skinning.

All six models of the Pro Pursuit Series come with a heavy-duty nylon sheath and Buck’s forever warranty. And they are proudly made right here in the USA. Learn more at: https://www.buckknives.com/
