Below is a news release from the Oregon State Police Fish & Wildlife Division. For 2022, Fiocchi partnered with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation to increase the visibility of poaching incidents in an effort to reduce poaching nationwide.

Troopers with the Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife Division need public help with the fifth different elk poaching case it’s investigating in October.

They believe someone shot and killed two elk within 100 yards of Interstate-5 near milepost 84 south of Glendale in southwest Oregon. It happened between 7 PM October 25 and 7 AM the following morning. The perpetrator(s) processed a cow and removed edible portions but left a bull with the meat going to waste.

The investigation shows someone used a flashlight and there was also a report of a subject driving a silver midsized pickup with a rifle in the area earlier in the day along the freeway.
