The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is seeking public input on its draft elk management plan.
The purpose of the plan, which is a working document, is to provide background and historical information about elk in Nebraska, while providing guidance in the decision-making process.
Game and Parks will host two virtual public informational meetings on the plan: 7 p.m. Central time Sept. 20 and 2 p.m. Sept. 22. To view the plan or register for the virtual meetings, visit OutdoorNebraska.gov/elkplan.
The public may give feedback on the plan by commenting during the virtual meeting, using the comment submission form on the plan webpage or by emailing [email protected].
The public may comment on the draft plan through Sept. 30.
Since 1994, RMEF and its partners completed 96 conservation and hunting heritage outreach projects in Nebraska with a combined value of more than $11.8 million. These projects protected or enhanced 32,827 acres of habitat and opened or improved public access to 16,237 acres. Recently, RMEF provided funding for new Nebraska elk research.
