The application period is open for those want to hunt elk in New Mexico.
For those unfamiliar with the process or seeking more information about it, the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish (NMDGF) is offering a virtual seminar to help. It is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, February 9 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Travis Zaffarano, NMDGF elk program manager, will answer questions about how to apply for and hunt elk in New Mexico. Those interested need to register in advance for the seminar, which is one of a series of virtual events to help sportsmen and women interested in hunting a variety of wildlife species.
The deadline to apply for an elk license is March 16, 2022.
