Elk Hunting & Country Music—July 30, 2011
Elk101.com and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation are excited to announce the 1st annual Elk Hunting & Country Music Event to be held on Saturday July 30, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Nampa Civic Center. Guest seminar speakers will be back-country bowhunter Cameron Hanes and World Champion Elk Caller Corey Jacobsen. RMEF Military Appreciation Night—Headwaters Country Jam—June 24, 2011
RMEF is sponsoring a Military Appreciation Night for veterans and active military on June 24 at the Headwaters Country Jam music festival near Three Forks. Veterans and active military will have a chance to win a one-year RMEF supporting membership or a Browning Commemorative Rifle. Foley Ridge-False Brome Containment Project—June 21, 2011
Fifteen volunteers are needed on Tuesday, June 21, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to provide and operate weed eaters and power mowers to mow false brome on 60 acres at McKenzie Bridge. Wildcat Canyon-Lady C Ranch Conservation Project Dedication—June 18, 2011
The RMEF, U.S. Forest Service and Whitlow Family invite you to join them at 2 p.m. on June 18 at the Lady C Ranch to celebrate and dedicate the Wildcat Canyon conservation project—an effort more than 10 years in the making to permanently protect 2,400 acres of the Whitlow’s property as part of the Black Hills National Forest. A reception/social hour and RMEF BBQ ($10/meal) will follow starting at 4:30 p.m. at the Custer State Park Creekside Lodge. Snoqualmie Ranger District Volunteer Clean-Up Day—July 16, 2011
Volunteers are needed Saturday, July 16, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to pick up trash in the Greenwater and Wilkeson areas. Interested persons should meet in the parking lot at the fairgrounds in Enumclaw. Contact Ian Canaan, Forest Service, 206-510-6496.

Red Canyon Chapter Sets Record
The Red Canyon Chapter in Lander recently set a new Wyoming record for Legacy donations, bringing in 21 during their banquet on April 16, 2011. The chapter has also caught the $100K Total Chapter Activity fever: they hit the mark for the third time in 4 years at their 354-person banquet. And the committee rounded up seven great rifles for the Rifle Raffle at Elk Camp in Reno. Way to go Red Canyon Chapter!
