Elk NetworkOregon Teen Pleads Guilty to Long List of Poaching Charges

An 18-year-old in Pendleton, Oregon, plead guilty to a lengthy list of misdemeanor charges related to the illegal taking of wildlife on private and public lands within Umatilla County.

Joseph Reide St. Pierre received a 30-day jail sentence as well as $50,000 restitution, five years’ probation and a lifetime hunting suspension. The judge also ordered him to pay a $500 compensatory fine to benefit a Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation youth day event.

-Trespass with a firearm
-Unlawful take of a trophy whitetail buck
-Unlawful take of a cow elk (X2)
-Exceeding annual bag limit
-Unlawful take of a mule deer buck
-Waste of a game mammal
-Hunting upon cultivated lands of another
-Unlawful take of trophy mule deer buck
-Waste of a game mammal
-Assisting or aiding another in the taking of a buck deer (X2)
-Unlawful take of a trophy bull elk
-Waste of a game mammal
-Unlawful take of a whitetail buck
-Waste of a game mammal
-Unlawful take of mule deer doe
