If you hunted elk in Wyoming in 2019, chances are you fared pretty well. Statistics released by the Wyoming Fish and Game Department indicate 42.1 percent of elk hunters successfully harvested an elk, which is typical for the species.

If you break down the numbers, 53,843 active hunters purchased 69,969 licenses and spent 413,827 afield. They took 10,453 bulls, 9,647 cows, 1,371 calves and 1,173 spikes. Go here to see a further breakdown of statewide harvest numbers.

Wyoming moose hunters saw 92 percent harvest success compared to pronghorn antelope at just over 90 percent.
