Below is a Facebook post from Sasktip, an organization that works with the Saskatchewan Conservation Officers to crack down on poaching. For 2025-2026, Fiocchi partnered with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation to increase the visibility of poaching incidents in an effort to reduce it.
On November 29, 2025, North Battleford conservation officers received a Turn In Poachers and Polluters (TIPP) call in the Arelee, Saskatchewan, area. Officers responded and found a cow elk that was shot and left to waste 13 miles west of Arelee. Officers believe that the elk was shot sometime on the evening of November 27. All of the edible meat was left to waste.
Anyone with information should call the provincial toll-free TIPP line at 1-800-667-7561. Callers with information that lead to an arrest or conviction are eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000!
Calls are not traced or recorded, and callers may choose to remain anonymous.
