Elk NetworkHow to Use Thermals while Mountain Hunting, with Randy Newberg

Hunting | April 24, 2018

Randy Newberg learned about hunting in the mountains the hard way; by making mistakes and not understanding how the thermal flow of warm and cold air changes the wind directions uphill or downhill. You can fool an elk’s eyes or ears, but you will never fool their nose.

Every successful elk hunt manages the wind. That requires understanding thermal activity and what you can do to use those thermals to your advantage and keep that advantage as the direction of the thermals change.
