Authorities say someone shot and killed the animals sometime between the night of August 30 and the morning of September 1.

It happened north of Highway 89 in Flagstaff. More specifically, the carcasses turned up north of Forest Road (FR) 779 near the intersection of the 779 and 546 roads.
