Elk NetworkCarson Wentz unapologetically responds to hunting critics

Carson Wentz, beloved by Eagles fans throughout Philadelphia, has found himself in the news in other sorts thanks to a recent twitter post. Wentz, an avid hunter, tweeted a photo of his Golden Retriever Henley with the caption “Happy 5th Birthday to Mama Henley! We’ve been through a lot in 5 years. Best dog and hunting buddy I could ask for!”

As could be expected, it didn’t take long for the anti-hunters to chime in…
One twitter user responded:
“Carson, congratulations on the Birthday of Mama Henley. As a friend I wanted to quickly highlight that a man in your influential position might cause offence through the posting of your first picture. I support its sentiment however the context and content of the pic could offend”
Another responded:
“What does “they shall not kill actually mean”
And even more kept coming. But that didn’t stop Carson from responding, while showing his response to the criticism and keeping his conviction in a respectful way.
Appreciate that, but offensive and controversial? Two of the main things I tweet about are Jesus and hunting. That’s what I’m passionate about and that won’t ever change! When you love something, you talk about it! Stay convicted about it and don’t worry what others think!

Carson Wentz is a great example of how to stand by your convictions and be proud of our hunting heritage. Don’t worry, he gained plenty of support garnering over 7,000 Retweets and 40,000 likes on his response.
