General | September 3, 2020

Authorities in Colorado are asking for public assistance to find the person(s) responsible for poaching an elk near the town of Yellow Jacket in Montezuma County. Someone shot the animal, cut off the head and left the rest of the body to rot.

“Poaching steals resources from legitimate hunters and the people of Colorado,” Joe Lewandowski, Colorado Parks and Wildlife spokesman, told The Journal. “People here value wildlife resources and elk are an iconic species.”
