Elk NetworkReward Linked to Elk Poaching in Northwest Idaho

General | May 13, 2020

Wildlife officials need your help finding who is responsible for poaching a cow elk near Orofino, Idaho, approximately 40 miles east of Lewiston.

Conservation officers with the Idaho Fish and Game Department say someone illegally shot the elk sometime around April 15-17, 2020, along Grangemont Road near Campbell’s Pond. A butchered cow elk carcass showed up along Cottonwood Creek Road at the intersection of Kettenbach Grade shortly thereafter. Wildlife officials believe it is the same animal.

If you have any information, call 1-800-632-5999. A reward of $300 is available for information leading to a citation.

For 2020, Remington partnered with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation to increase the visibility of poaching incidents in an effort to reduce poaching nationwide.
