The local archery range in Cañon City, Colorado, needed a bit of a facelift. Among other things, it needed to replace its 10 old targets. That’s where the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation stepped up to the tune of a $2,600 grant.

“Without Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation’s help, this doesn’t happen,” Kyle Horne, Cañon City Area Recreation and Park District executive director, told the Canon City Daily Record. ““We are trying to make the range safer and a better experience. This is step one.”

The initial support is part of an $18,000 improvement project. The recreation district is hoping other grants follow.
