Elk NetworkRMEF Volunteers Provide Water for Wildlife

The Desert Southwest is often arid and even bone dry. It is also elk country.

That’s why a group of Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation volunteers from the Red Mountain Chapter recently spent a weekend supporting the Arizona Game and Fish Department and the O’Haco Cattle Company to improve the situation.

It happened in the north-central part of the state near Winslow. More than a dozen folks constructed water drinkers that are fed by one of the only sustainable wells for miles around. Their efforts will not only benefit elk, deer and other wildlife but livestock as well.
