It is a framework designed by hunters in the mid-1800s to protect, manage and forever sustain wildlife populations.
It’s called the North American Wildlife Conservation Model and contains a series of seven basic tenets.
The fourth of which simply states “hunting opportunity for all.”
That is…every citizen has an opportunity, under the law, to hunt and fish in the United States and Canada.
Colonists came from a land that deprived them of basic rights we now enjoy.
Our forefathers established laws that gave both freedom and power to the people, including the right for everyday citizens to bear arms.
Gone were the days where royalty laid claim to ownership of wildlife and only royalty could hunt.
Today, thanks to highly regulated laws that manage wildlife including quotas and methods of take, everyone has the opportunity to hunt.
The model’s continuing conservation framework guides the most successful wildlife management program on earth, and stands as a testimony that Hunting is Conservation.
