Elk NetworkVideo Shows How Hunting (and Fishing) is Conservation

General | July 10, 2019

The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation has long maintained that Hunting Is Conservation. A new video distributed by the Michigan Wildlife Council helps demonstrate that fact.

It shows that funding generated by hunting and fishing licenses pays for the bulk of wildlife conservation work in the state of Michigan.

The Michigan Wildlife Council consists of nine members located in all parts of Michigan and represents a wide range of residents, but they share a common vision when it involves Michigan’s cherished outdoor traditions – ensuring they’re here for generations. Council members — appointed by the governor and subject to the advice and consent of the Michigan Senate — are entrusted with educating the public about the importance of conserving and managing our forests, waters and wildlife.
