Elk NetworkWyoming Burn to Clean Up Forest, Improve Wildlife Habitat

The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and several other partners provided funding to assist the Bureau of Land Management carry out prescribed burn activity in south-central Wyoming.

According to SweetwaterNOW, the burn will take place about 30 miles north and east of Rawlins in the Seminoe Mountains.

The goal is to burn slash piles from earlier forest management work that removed dead, downed timber and underbrush which helps trigger the growth of forage for elk and other wildlife.
